The administration of criminal justice

The New York City Criminal Court issued its annual report on May 29 http://www.nycourts.gov/whatsnew/. Librarians should read it; a lot happens before people come to the library with questions. This report describes how tickets are processed through the system and all the details required before anyone sees a judge. The tables show what a huge volume of violations are processed that never see a judge.
